Posto Mobile: Food Truck Pizza!

Posto Mobile is a Boston-based food truck branching out from their brick and mortar roots in Somerville.

While their restaurant serves a wide range of Italian specialties, the food truck sticks mostly to pizza.

When I visited, you could choose from:

  • BBQ Chicken Pizza
  • Pesto Sausage Pizza
  • Pepperoni Pizza
  • Mushroom + Spinach Pizza
  • Soppressata Pizza
  • Tomato + Basil Pizza

Plus (Bonus Items):

  • Pasta Bolognese
  • Tiramisu
  • Cannoli
  • Salad

I went with the sausage and pesto pizza, because I am a deep and long-time lover of pesto. The pizzas come in individual sizes, enough to feed two skinny people or one normal person.

Posto Mobile had a decent line going, but the pizza still came out reasonable quick.

Now the perfect pizza is quite the subjective subject – some prefer crispy crust, other prefer puffy. Some like deep dish, others like flatbread, etc.

Posto pizza is very soft and fluffy – if you love doughy pizza crust, this is right up your ally. The crust is fairly wide, grabbing quite a large section of the pizza pie to rule it’s dominion.

The toppings itself were decent but not overly generous. There was a nice amount of tasty sausage (and not the shapeless mounds you’d find in Domino’s, although those certainly have their own place in my heart). Like a balding old man, some patches of pizza are well covered, while others could use a comb-over.

There was a nice stream of pesto (although IMHO, there can always be more pesto, so deep is my love) and a tremendous amount of oil (#NOM).

posto pizza review

Posto Mobile dishes up some really tasty pizza for sure!

The only thing I’d like to see them to differently is experiment more with pizza flavors.

You’ll find that competing pizza trucks like Stoked are much more experimental and adventurous in their pizza toppings. Still, experimental or not, Posto is a pizza truck all to worthy of your lunch time delight.
