RECAP: Rose Kennedy Greenway Spring Food Festival 2015

I was lucky enough to attend the Greenway Spring Food Festival last week, and it served as a great mini premiere party for the new food truck Spring season!

It was a sunny but cool day, with plenty food truck fan attendees.

I arrived a bit on the later side and was bummed to find that Kim Kim BBQ and Lilo’s were already sold out!

I was really excited to try these new trucks, but unfortunately it will have to wait for another day. We can’t be too hard on them for running out as they’re still adjusting through growing pains.

Instead I got to have an old favorite at Bon Me.

I also got to try Stoked‘s Porky pizza, with bacon, italian sausage, and a unique pepperoni that is actually blended in with the pizza sauce. Very tasty!

The Rose Kennedy Greenway did a great job at making the Greenway Spring Food Festival a fun family event. The park had Adirondack chairs and blankets scattered about, giving people plenty of space to sit, chat, and enjoy their food.

There were also several corn-hole stations set up, which I think is an absolutely fantastic idea!

I got to spend my lunch chatting with another food truck fan – Brian Del Vecchio (aka @hybernaut). Follow him on Twitter if you don’t already!

Folks from Stop & Shop’s Peapod grocery delivery service were also there, giving out free seltzers and adorable squishy stress fruit and veggies.

The Greenway Spring Food Festival was a great start to the food truck Springtime season.

I got to speak with Sam and Samantha, who run the Greenway public programs and events. They assured me that there will be plenty more fun spring events to look for in the future!

Be sure to check out the Rose Kennedy Greenway website for all their upcoming event info, including farmers markets, art instillations, and, of course, food trucks!
