Food Truck Branding & Marketing: The First Steps

Branding is always going to be a huge part of your entire business, and is something that trickles down and affects everything, from your customers, to your menu, to your online presence.

Before you even think of creating a website, food truck business plan, or visual identity, remember to first do some soul searching and define your truck. Who is your target customer? What makes you different from everything else out there?

This is your opportunity to really identify your business’ personality and direction, and is also a lot of fun!

When it comes to online marketing, the good thing is that most of the basics are free or low cost, and just take a bit of love and attention to be effective.

Your website should act as a base for all your other online accounts – there are so many website builders out there such as WordPress, Wix and Squarespace, that allow you to set up a great looking site for often less than a couple of hundred dollars.

Social media accounts are free but have to be reliable. Often, having a couple of accounts that are kept updated to the minute is better than having many poorly-maintained accounts on every platform.

There are many different marketing methods out there, but the aim for them all is to increase your following, always stay fresh in people’s minds, and create and maintain a great relationship with your customers.
